From the Village at Meridian website, “#SMASHED is an event founded on the goal of encouraging women to push past the fear and embrace the reality that early detection for breast cancer can save a life. Our story starts with event founder Amber Mausling, a Boise local that was diagnosed this past year with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma — a type of breast cancer that most women get at a later stage in life. Through treatment Amber has stayed strong and is now fighting to get the message out that breast cancer does not age discriminate and early detection can save many lives. At #SMASHED, Amber’s hope is to raise enough money to fund at least 100 mammograms for under-insured or uninsured individuals, raise awareness and provide resources.”
